Mission Statement
God
is infinite and incomprehensible. The universe reflects this through
its many wonders, its myriad of forms and the great diversity
we see in our many religious traditions. We are interfaith in
perspective, embracing the belief that God’s message of
love has been shared with the world’s different cultures
and peoples throughout the ages resulting in our many religious
traditions. We express this with the phrase, “The Paths
are Many, the Truth is One, Love Thy Neighbour.”
We
believe that we are Spirit and that as such we possess natural
gifts of intuitive and psychic vision which are the birthright
of every human soul. We reject fear and believe that hatred and
intolerance have no place within the domain of spiritual and religious
practice. We recognize the power of thought to shape the world
that we live in and celebrate the purposefulness of free-will
as we create our own life experiences and learn from our joys
and challenges.
As
we understand more about spirituality and the nature of being
human, we understand more about our personal responsibility in
affecting the universe through our thoughts. Spirituality is about
personal choices, all of which affect us and the world in which
we live.
The
Institute’s goals are to make knowledge related to religious
practice, personal spirituality, intuition and gifts of Spirit,
and the power of embracing diversity universally available to
all. Celebrating the fact that it is both what we share and what
makes us different that makes the world more beautiful and helps
us to better understand a God who is incomprehensible. Knowledge
empowers and frees people from the fear of ignorance.
The
Mission of the Interfaith Ministry, its leaders and ministers
is to create and maintain: "a vibrant, interfaith community
that embraces diversity and empowers the receiving of and expression
of gifts of Spirit, in a spiritual community that draws on spiritual
practices, knowledge and truths of all traditions and is served
by trained, anointed and committed leaders who will inspire peace
in their extended communities and amongst all people."

What
is the Open International
Interfaith Ministry® (OIIM)?
The
Open International Interfaith Ministry® (OIIM) is a registered
global division of the founding chapter, the Prince Edward Island
Interfaith Ministry. OIIM embraces the same inclusive, interfaith
perspective as the PEI Interfaith Ministry and the Spiritual Science
Fellowship Interfaith Ministry. Students graduating from the iNtuitive
Times Institute are recognized as Lay Ministers, Licensed Ministers
and Ordained Interfaith Ministers through the Open International
Interfaith Ministry. Ordained Ministers have earned the title
of ‘Reverend’ and can minister anywhere in the world
in accordance with their state, provincial or country laws.
We
are interfaith in perspective. In sociological terms, OIIM is
neither a sect nor a cult. Our religious beliefs embrace the positive
in all of the world religion. OIIM has specific doctrine in matters
of faith outlined in its publications and embraces the Saints,
prophets and sages of all religions. It is interested in participation
by persons from all faiths and traditions. It is a spiritual and
religious association for the development of the whole person.
Some of those attending OIIM Interfaith Celebrations also attend
services of a more traditional religious faith, while others embrace
OIIM as their primary religion in matters of faith.
Christian
priests, ministers, nuns, Jewish rabbis, Hindu swamis, Sikhs,
Tibetan Buddhist lamas, Jain monks, Native medicine-men, Spiritualist
ministers, psychics, mediums, and representatives of other faiths,
old and new, share the platform at various meetings of the Interfaith
Ministry with scholars, scientists, and ordinary people.
There
are a number of common denominators which unite us in the Interfaith
Ministry. One is our desire to eliminate intolerance and prejudice
in spiritual and religious practice. Another is our readiness
to testify to the reality of the Spiritual world and the subtle
faculties of psychic and Spiritual vision through which it may
be perceived. Our activities help people find their own personal
understanding and proofs as to the reality and nature of Spirit
and the Spirit world. Central to the interfaith message is the
certain knowledge that we are eternal and that divine guidance
is available to people of all traditions who sincerely open themselves
to it.
The
Open International Interfaith Ministry is an interfaith community
offering spiritual and religious services, educational programmes,
pastoral ministrations & a religious alternative for persons
of any religious traditions. We affirm that God is love and that
there are many paths to God. We believe that prejudice and intolerance
have no place in spiritual and religious practice. We welcome
those who desire to understand experiences of psyche and Spirit,
and wish to dedicate themselves to personal spiritual growth and
psychic development in an atmosphere of respect, informed free-thought
and enquiry.
Those
graduating from the Institute will be able to work within OIIM
at the ministry level they have achieved. Others wishing to work
within the Open International Interfaith Ministry must be approved
by OIIM Registration Board. The Board will evaluate their training
to determine any additional training necessary. OIIM Registration
Board assesses an individual’s training from any seminary
and qualifications in order to:
1. Confer and assess on an on-going basis the titles and status
of:
a. CASC - Certificate of Applied Spiritual Counselling;
b.
Lay Minister; with area of specialization in
(specialty in art, music, dance, writing, leadership or inspirational
speaking);
c.
LM, RSC or LM, ‘Intuitive’
RSC - Licensed Minister, Registered Spiritual Counsellor;

RSC - Ordained Interfaith Minister, Registered Spiritual
Counsellor; with area of specialization in (specialty in art,

Maintain a registry and confirmation of CEU’s (continuing
education units), allowing for a renewal for a one to three year
period for each professional designation:
a. Lay Minister; with area of specialization
in (specialty in art, music, dance, writing, leadership or inspirational
speaking) ;
b.
LM, RSC or LM, ‘Intuitive’
RSC - with area of specialization in... ;
c.
OM, RSC or OM, ‘Intuitive’
RSC - with area of specialization in...
Ministering through OIIM and registering through its Registration
Board can help protect the public in two ways:
First
It helps the public easily identify those who have had extensive
training and are qualified
Interfaith Ministers and spiritual counsellor; and
Second
It offers the public an appeal process should they feel a need
to lodge a formal complaint
about the services of an OIIM registered professional to a Board
with the power to take
disciplinary action.
Ordained
Interfaith Ministers are trained to conduct the full range of
religious services and ministrations. A Licensed Minister can
perform most of the services of an Ordained Interfaith Minister,
except for weddings and funerals. Ministers must adhere to the
laws and licensing regulations of the country or province/state
in which they reside.
Spiritual
Counselling is part of the ministry training in the Interfaith
Ministry. OIIM Lay, Licensed or Ordained Ministers with any RSC
designation can serve the ministry’s members, followers
and adherents through pastoral or spiritual counselling services.
Ministers of OIIM offer professional services through the Ministry
to OIIM members, followers, adherents and those embracing the
beliefs of OIIM, ensuring the public the right to protection through
OIIM’s registration board.
